제6장은 WF Sustainable Responsibility Index(WFSRI)를 기반으로 운영되는 SEC WFSRI Rating의 개발 배경과 목적, 운영 개념 및 기본 체계를 설명한다. 또한 책임경영 평가 결과를 공식 등급으로 제시하기 위한 기본 원칙과 활용 방향을 제시한다.

Chapter 6 explains the development background, purpose, operational concept, and fundamental framework of the SEC WFSRI Rating, which is based on the WF Sustainable Responsibility Index (WFSRI). It also presents the fundamental principles and intended application of the official responsible management rating system.

 

1. SEC WFSRI Rating 개요
Overview of the SEC WFSRI Rating

 

SEC WFSRI Rating은 WF Sustainable Responsibility Index(WFSRI)를 기반으로 기업과 공공기관의 책임경영 수준을 종합적으로 평가하기 위해 개발된 공식 평가등급체계이다. 이 등급체계는 조직의 책임경영 역량과 지속가능한 경쟁력을 객관적이고 일관된 기준에 따라 평가하여 이해관계자에게 신뢰할 수 있는 정보를 제공하는 것을 목적으로 한다.

The SEC WFSRI Rating is the official rating system developed to comprehensively evaluate the level of responsible management of corporations and public institutions based on the WF Sustainable Responsibility Index (WFSRI). The rating system is designed to assess an organization's responsible management capability and sustainable competitiveness using objective and consistent standards while providing reliable information to stakeholders.

 

기존의 기업평가체계는 재무성과 또는 일부 비재무 요소를 중심으로 발전해 왔으나, 기업의 사회적 책임과 지속가능성, 장기적인 가치창출 역량을 종합적으로 평가하는 데에는 일정한 한계가 있었다. 이러한 한계를 보완하기 위해 새로운 책임경영 평가체계에 대한 연구가 시작되었다.

Conventional corporate evaluation systems have primarily focused on financial performance or selected non-financial factors. However, they have shown limitations in comprehensively assessing corporate social responsibility, sustainability, and long-term value creation capability. To address these limitations, research into a new responsible management evaluation framework was initiated.

 

2017년 1월, 기존 기업평가체계의 한계를 보완하고 기업의 사회적 책임과 지속가능성을 보다 체계적이고 객관적으로 평가할 수 있는 새로운 평가체계의 필요성을 인식함에 따라 관련 연구와 개발을 시작하였다.

In January 2017, research and development began in response to the recognized need for a new evaluation framework capable of assessing corporate social responsibility and sustainability in a more systematic and objective manner while addressing the limitations of existing corporate evaluation systems.

 

이후 책임경영의 철학과 평가 원칙을 정립하고, 평가 Framework, 평가부문, 평가지표 및 핵심가치지표(Core Value Indicators)를 체계적으로 개발하였다. 또한 관련 분야 전문가 및 씽크탱크와의 장기간 연구를 통해 평가모델을 지속적으로 발전시켰으며, 이 과정에서 WF Sustainable Responsibility Index(WFSRI)라는 공식 명칭과 평가체계를 확립하였다.

Subsequently, the philosophy and principles of responsible management were established, and the evaluation framework, evaluation categories, evaluation indicators, and Core Value Indicators (CVIs) were systematically developed. Through long-term research conducted with experts and think tanks in related fields, the evaluation model was continuously refined, leading to the establishment of the official name WF Sustainable Responsibility Index (WFSRI) and its evaluation framework.

 

관련 분야 전문가 및 씽크탱크의 장기간 연구 성과를 바탕으로 2025년 11월 1일 WF Sustainable Responsibility Index(WFSRI)와 SEC WFSRI Rating의 기본 체계를 1차 공식 확정하였다. 이후 검토와 보완을 거쳐 2025년 12월 26일 최종 확정하였다. 이어 2026년 1월 1일 SEC WFSRI Rating과 SEC WFSRI Certification을 공식 공표하고 운영을 시작하였다.

Based on the long-term research achievements of experts and think tanks in related fields, the fundamental framework of the WF Sustainable Responsibility Index (WFSRI) and the SEC WFSRI Rating was officially confirmed for the first time on November 1, 2025. Following subsequent review and refinement, it was finalized on December 26, 2025. On January 1, 2026, the SEC WFSRI Rating and the SEC WFSRI Certification were officially announced, and their operation commenced.

 

SEC WFSRI Rating은 책임경영 수준을 객관적이고 일관된 기준에 따라 평가함으로써 조직의 지속가능한 성장과 장기적인 경쟁력 향상을 지원하는 공식 평가체계로 활용된다.

The SEC WFSRI Rating serves as an official evaluation system that supports sustainable growth and long-term competitiveness by assessing the level of responsible management using objective and consistent standards.
