기업과 공공기관을 둘러싼 환경은 인공지능(AI), 디지털 전환, 기후변화 대응, 글로벌 공급망 재편, 사이버 보안, 인권 보호, 윤리경영, 그리고 공공가치와 사회적 가치에 대한 요구 확대로 빠르게 변화하고 있다.
The environment surrounding corporations and public institutions is rapidly evolving as a result of Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital transformation, climate action, global supply chain restructuring, cybersecurity, human rights, ethical governance, and the growing demand for public and social value.
이제 조직의 경쟁력은 단기적인 재무성과나 기존 ESG(Environmental, Social, Governance) 평가만으로는 충분히 설명될 수 없다. 지속가능한 성장, 미래 경쟁력, 혁신역량, 장기 가치창출, 비재무 리스크 관리, 공공가치 및 사회적 가치까지 함께 평가할 수 있는 새로운 책임경영 기준이 요구되고 있다.
Today, organizational competitiveness can no longer be fully explained by short-term financial performance or conventional Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) assessments alone. A new standard for Responsible Management is required—one that evaluates sustainable growth, future competitiveness, innovation capability, long-term value creation, non-financial risk management, public value, and social value in an integrated manner.
이러한 시대적 변화는 새로운 책임경영 평가체계의 필요성을 제시하고 있으며, 바로 이러한 요구에 대응하기 위하여 SEC는 WF책임경영지수(WFSRI)를 독자적으로 개발하였다.
Responding to this transformation, the Sustainable Enterprise Evaluation Commission (SEC) independently developed the WF Sustainable Responsibility Index (WFSRI) as a new framework for Responsible Management Evaluation.

본 백서는 SEC(Sustainable Enterprise Evaluation Commission)가 개발·운영하는 WF책임경영지수(WFSRI)의 개발 배경과 평가철학, 공식 책임경영 평가체계(Official Responsible Management Evaluation Framework), 평가방법론, 평가기준, 핵심가치지표(Core Value Indicators, CVI) 및 활용체계를 종합적으로 설명하는 공식 기준문서이다.
This White Paper is the official reference document published by the Sustainable Enterprise Evaluation Commission (SEC), comprehensively presenting the development background of the WF Sustainable Responsibility Index (WFSRI), its evaluation philosophy, the Official Responsible Management Evaluation Framework, evaluation methodology, evaluation criteria, Core Value Indicators (CVI), and practical applications.
또한 기업 및 공공기관, 연구기관, 정책입안자, 투자자 및 다양한 이해관계자가 책임경영을 체계적으로 이해하고 실천할 수 있도록 지원하는 공식 해설서이자 연구자료의 역할을 수행한다.

WF책임경영지수(WFSRI)의 개요
Overview of the WF Sustainable Responsibility Index (WFSRI)
WF책임경영지수(WFSRI)는 기존 ESG를 대체하기 위하여 개발된 평가체계가 아니다.
The WF Sustainable Responsibility Index (WFSRI) was not developed to replace conventional ESG.
WFSRI는 ESG의 기본 철학을 포함하면서도 ESG만으로는 충분히 설명하기 어려운 책임경영 영역을 종합적이고 미래지향적으로 평가하기 위하여 SEC가 독자적으로 개발한 공식 책임경영 평가체계이다.
Rather, WFSRI incorporates the fundamental philosophy of ESG while extending the evaluation framework to areas of Responsible Management that conventional ESG alone cannot fully assess. It is SEC's independently developed Official Responsible Management Evaluation Framework.
이를 통해 기업 및 공공기관의 지속가능성(Sustainability), 책임경영(Responsible Management), 비재무 리스크 관리(Non-Financial Risk Management), 혁신역량(Innovation Capability), 장기 가치창출(Long-Term Value Creation)을 종합적으로 평가한다.
Through this framework, SEC comprehensively evaluates Sustainability, Responsible Management, Non-Financial Risk Management, Innovation Capability, and Long-Term Value Creation across corporations and public institutions.
또한 공공가치(Public Value), 사회적 가치(Social Value), 공동체 가치(Community Value), 미래세대 보호(Protection of Future Generations), 디지털 윤리(Digital Ethics), 혁신가치(Innovation Value) 등 새로운 시대가 요구하는 책임경영 요소를 함께 반영함으로써 보다 객관적이고 미래지향적인 평가를 제공한다.
The framework further incorporates Public Value, Social Value, Community Value, Protection of Future Generations, Digital Ethics, and Innovation Value, enabling a more comprehensive, objective, and forward-looking evaluation of Responsible Management.

본 백서는 WFSRI의 평가철학과 평가체계, 평가방법론, 평가기준, 핵심가치지표(Core Value Indicators, CVI), 활용체계를 종합적으로 설명하는 공식 기준문서이다.
This White Paper serves as the official reference document explaining the evaluation philosophy, evaluation framework, evaluation methodology, evaluation criteria, Core Value Indicators (CVI), and practical applications of the WFSRI.
세부 평가지표와 평가방법론, 증빙자료, 심사기준 및 평가 운영기준은 별도의 「WFSRI 세부평가지표 해설서(Guidelines for WFSRI Detailed Evaluation Indicators)」 및 관련 규정을 통하여 관리된다.
Detailed evaluation indicators, methodologies, evidence requirements, assessment criteria, and operational standards are governed separately through the Guidelines for WFSRI Detailed Evaluation Indicators and related SEC regulations.
